bleh

well it's me once again. First of all I thought I would let everyone know that i'm not dead and I haven't dropped from the course.

I woke up on Monday and felt really bad. My head ached, my throat was sore, and my nose was plugged up. So thats how it's been for the past 4 days. Sleeping and eating are basically the extent of my life right now. I've tried to get some school work done but the headaches make it way too hard to concentrate. I know that when I get back i'm going to be so bogged down with work so hopefully I can get back tomorrow and get it done this weekend. I doubt it will all be done but better to get a start on it. The thing that is really annoying is that I sent out emails to the teachers on monday and just today I got something back saying that they didn't send properly. So this means I have no idea about whats is going on and can't even try to catch up. So I guess I will try again and hopefully I can get back in sync with everyone. Things here are pretty lame. I sleep and eat and take drugs to try and get me back to normal. I hate when I get sick because I miss so much usually and it means I have to try and catch up while I learn new stuff as well. Hope everything is going ok with everyone else. I'll probably be asking for help a lot after I get back so don't be surprised. Well thats all from me once again. Hope to see you again soon. Ciao

must not get distracted....oooo tv!

Well here we are once again my fellow peers. Hope everyone is enjoying all the homework we have been assigned in the last couple of days. Keeping on top of it I’m sure. I for one am having quite a difficult time trying not to get distracted and leave the work until the last minute. It's difficult not to get distracted though, especially when the question is too hard for you to answer so you decide to do something else and maybe it will come to you... 2 hours later... Well I think that I’m improving from high school that’s for sure. Except when it comes to the weekends that is... (Up until 7 am at PC Bang on Friday/Saturday, woops!)

So the third week is halfway done and so far things have been pretty good for homework. If you can't get a question on your own someone is there to help out and offer advice. Everyone is getting to know each other a bit better it seems.

Yesterday we did the tensile test for two metals in materials and I don't know about everyone else but I almost fell over the first time it broke because I jumped so badly. I thought that the video on steel making was pretty cool even though it was about 40 years old. Ahh, got to love the ancient, low tech, cheesy music, poor camerawork videos of the 70's.

Well once again; this is the Captain signing off.
Ciao for now,

an engineer doing public personal writing!?

Hello to all my fellow bloggers and the readers out there. Doing this blog for the first time can really put some stress on a person especially when it's still the morning eh? Well, everyone here seems like they have some idea of whats going on but it's still hard to say.

Well, the first week and a bit of Mechanical Engineering Technology (man that takes a long time to type out) has passed and so far it's been pretty straightforward with intreos to the course and such. It's difficult to say what the future holds for this course but by the way the teachers have told us it seems that we're in for a long and tedious semester.

My first impression when I saw everyone who was in the program was not what I expected it to be. It was, oddly enough, "what! there is only one girl in this entire class!!!!" Like I said, not what I expected. As the days dragged by we were introduced to our various teachers and got to know each other a little better. As for the teachers in this course, I was skeptical at first as I suppose most of you were but as we got more into the couse I found that most of them were really easy going and good at what they did. Well, mostly i guess. I can tell by just listening and looking around in the class that materials is going to be tough for all of us. Vladamir is a good teacher, but i think that with the mixture of the difficulty of the subject mixed with his heavy accet has got all of us completly frazzled. Maybe it's just because we are just getting into the course and things will get easier but you can be the judge of that I suppose.

As for the other courses, so far Computer applications and Technical Communications seem like they're going to be the easier of the other seven. Math, Statics and ME principles look like they will be fairly good and Materials and Drafting being the hardest. Thats my opinion of course but I would like to hear if anyone agrees with me.

Well, I think i've rambled on enough for now. One week and a bit down, and a looong way to got. Looking forward top your feedback on my thoughts. Ciao
